Issues Resolved, really!
At the moment there is still no mod_perl support in Apache, nor is content being gzipped to improve speed. If you don’t know what these things are, then they don’t apply to your website and can easily be ignored.
The root of the problem was finally determined and as such Apache/PHP was able to be compiled successfully to avoid the problems that started this entire process.
Mod_perl, provided that it ‘plays nice’ with PHP, will be added back into Apache late this evening. With consideration for the amount of intermittant downtime this situation has caused it is best to wait and make sure websites are available during peak evening usage hours.
Thank you for your patience, sometimes things just don’t work the way they’re supposed to and in this case, appropriate bug reports are being filed with software providers.
