Positive Fusion

As stated previously, we have been working with various website owners to help reduce the load those particular websites have been placing on the server. We have made what we feel to be significant progress. While the heat is not completely off, we are doing considerably better than we have been. Work to improve quality of service will continue until it is back to as close to flawless as possible.

We are still working with the owners of the problematic websites to get the excessive traffic under some form of control. We are drastically limiting traffic with our throttling ability; however, even with the throttle, traffic is too heavy to maintain stability at all times.

The quiet period in terms of traffic did not last long by any means. MySQL has been crashing due to being overwhelmed with requests. This will pass, but for the time being services will remain less than completely stable.

Traffic seems to have abated now, both traffic and system load have returned to within closer to normal ranges. It is expected that load will pick up and we will have frequent bursts of activity. Please be aware that the system is being monitored very closely to keep any downtime to a minimum.

We’ve been struck with the ridiculously high server traffic again today. Traffic levels are far beyond any level of normal and due to this, the server’s load is very high. This will result in occasional time-outs and other connection errors, in addition to slow load times. We are working to pinpoint the exact cause of this.
