Several times today we’ve experienced less than five minute disruptions of service. This is due to high load generated by comment spammers flooding the server. There is little that can be done to protect against these attacks, other than block the IP ranges once they’re detected.
We are experiencing extremely high server load, the cause is being investigated and will be dealt with swiftly.
We’re now back online after that painful bit of downtime. The problem that has caused the reboot issue last month and now again today is now completely resolved and has tested to be successful. I thank you for your patience and do appologize for the delay in restoring services. We had to coordinate with both the data centre technicians and also their technical support department to resolve the problem, that took a significant portion of time.
The problem with the server reboot has finally be diagnosed, we’re now working on a fix. Unfortunately there is still no ETA on restoring services, as we must resolve this problem before continuing.
The datacenter is looking into the situation; however, other than that, we’re still waiting.
