Spam from Positive Fusion Server

Saturday, 31st March, 2007 - 22:20

We have detected a compromised email account that had been sending Paypal spam. This was simply and unfortunately a situation where the password was compromised allowing access to send email from the server. We have corrected the situation and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Please let this be a reminder to all that it is quite important to periodically change your Cpanel & Email passwords. If you haven’t changed your password lately, do it now.

Packet Loss

Friday, 16th March, 2007 - 03:53

It seems something is wonky with some internet peering this morning. There have been intermittent periods of extremely heavy packet loss on some of the connecting routes to the data center. Particularly effected is the node where above.net hands off access. This is one of those situations that’s out of our control, but we wanted to let you know what is happening if you’re unable to reach the server.

Poor System Performance

Thursday, 15th March, 2007 - 16:43

It appears log processing was ‘hung up’ this morning, which delayed the backup process. In addition the backup process today was running the weekly archive, to make the weekly backup. All of this has built up to provide for less than optimal system performance today. This will clear up, we thank you for your patience.

Load Spike

Wednesday, 14th March, 2007 - 21:25

We’re checking on where the source of increased load is coming from. The load rose too quickly to be able to adequately lock onto the source, but we suspect it’s some form of website copier or search engine disrespecting any sort of wait interval.

Severe Load.

Friday, 9th March, 2007 - 18:09

We are investigating the cause of a temporary service outage. Currently the server’s load is significantly elevated. This situation should be resolved momentarily.

While difficult to provide a precise estimation, we believe this outage to be from a load spike and having lasted only about a minute to a minute and a half; server monitoring software registers five minutes, as that is the minimum watch period.
