Blank PHP Pages

We have discovered an issue with PHP that has resulted in Apache segfaulting in certain instances. This segmentation fault results in a completely blank page. We believe we have isolated this problem to a specific php extension that provides PHP acceleration and caching. This extension has now been disabled, we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure this is the solution to this issue.

Shutdown Schedule – vangogh.positivefusion.com

The old server, vangogh.positivefusion.com, will be shutdown and all files erased on Saturday the 29th of December. This should allow enough time for even the slowest and most heavily cached DNS information to have updated. We’ll take a “snapshot” of the hosted data and transfer it to the new server to help serve as an additional backup prior to erasing the data from the old server.

Kernel Modification Successful

The reboot to modify the kernel was successful, took approximately six minutes. The server now recognizes the full 4GB of physical memory, which will result in better performance for users.

Scheduled Downtime

We’re scheduling a short period of downtime this morning to make a modification to the server kernel. This window is between 5:45 and 6:00AM. The period of downtime should be approximately five minutes, provided there are no complications.

Email Support Temporarily Offline

Email support was off-line this morning due to a missing Perl module. This has been corrected, email to support now functions as expected.
