Email to Yahoo

Monday, 30th November, 2009 - 17:03

Friday morning a spammer compromised a customer’s website by uploading a bulk mailer script through a security hole in one of the website’s plugins. During the relatively brief period of time before this was discovered and rectified Yahoo decided that Positive Fusion is spam friendly and set their email servers to permanently defer delivery of our messages. Until we are able to resolve this issue with Yahoo any email sent from Positive Fusion to Yahoo will not reach its recipients in a timely manner.

The messages are queued on our email server for delivery, but Yahoo will not accept them until they lift their ban on accepting messages from us.

Let this serve as a reminder to all. If you upload any type of scripting whatsoever, you must maintain that scripting by performing updates on a regular basis. Any scripting that you no longer use should be removed. Use caution when installing plugins or other small piece of scripting, as it may not have undergone the necessary security scrutiny of larger applications.
